The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Architect for immediate employment in the New York, NY office. This candidate will contribute to current transportation & transit-related project work at this location.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Leads in developing solutions for a wide range of difficult technical problems and interdisciplinary issues within established project budgets and timeline.
- Works under general direction, independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
- Applies critical thinking to challenge others work in the furtherance of the design effort within a project team.
- Leads in preparation of field changes and designs sketches for formal record drawings.
- Adapts and modifies design features and operational methods under supervision of a Project Manager or Project Architect to meet project specifications.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor of architecture degree.
- 10+ years of experience.
- Licensed as a Registered Architect.
- Solid knowledge of all code-related issues in complex transit facilities.
- Novice design and heavy production skills.
- Knowledge of project design and construction document production, standard construction techniques and principles.
- Working knowledge of design production techniques including Revit, Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD, 3D computer modeling, graphic design, word processing and effective communication skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience coordinating complex integrated transit-related architecture programs with emphasis on construction administrative services.

Job responsibilities:
- Primary studio role responsible for drawing and coordinating drawings with the Macau and Las Vegas based design teams.
- Primary role for verifying existing conditions in the field.
- Primary role for observing Construction progress for adherence to design intent.
- Assist the Studio Leader and Senior Architect with the running of the project.
- Important collaboration role with Las Vegas design team.
The successful candidate will have:
- 5+ years relevant experience in the gaming and/or hospitality design field.
- A valid professional license to practice architecture.
- Strong written, verbal and quantitative communication skills.
- Excellent Construction Document drawings skills.
- Fluency in Cantonese and English.
Additional Criteria:
- While not required, previous work experience in the region is desirable.
- Pursuit of Professional Registration is desirable.
