Touchmark, an Oregon-based award-winning developer, owner and operator of premier retirement communities in the western United States and Canada, is seeking an experienced Architect to join our development and construction team in Beaverton, Oregon.
In this role, you will support the Senior VP of Architecture with a variety of tasks on multiple projects ranging from design and space planning, project management and coordination with outsource architects and consultants, contract administration including submittal review and site observation, as well as sales and marketing collateral material support and general drafting.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- A minimum of 10 years’ professional experience; preferably in senior housing, multi-family housing, healthcare and residential / single family construction.
- Current architect licensure, professional degree or demonstrated project experience.
- Technical knowledge and experience working with a variety structural, mechanical, electrical and low voltage systems and ability to coordinate and review consultant documents and submittals.
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-up and Blue Beam software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Knowledge and working practice of the International Building Code, NFPA, ANSI, ADA and other regulatory codes.
- The ability to work under pressure and simultaneously coordinate multiple projects and tasks with careful attention to detail.
- The ability to travel as required to complete job responsibilities.

Senior Architect - Design

Our client is a medium size Architecture & Engineering consultancy who are very busy designing and delivering large scale building projects across the Middle East, now looking to expand their Architecture Department.
Cavendish Professionals is looking for Senior Architects with experience designing at top western consultants to assist the Head of Section/Head of Design/Project Managers in executing architectural designs from project initiation to closure. You will be ensuring deadlines are reached, budgets are kept to, the quality standard remains high and all client requirements are met.
The positions are based in Kuwait City.
Job purpose:
- Participate in the development of the project team structure, composition and a project plan in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Develop briefs along with project managers on the cost, resources, establishing a team and get approval from clients.
- Conduct interviews with clients to confirm their requirements, obtain additional information and ensure that all design facets of the projects are correctly scoped.
- Coordinate effectively with other architects and engineers throughout project lifecycles; review and understand their drawings and specifications to ensure that adequate provisions in their designs are made based on architectural designs.
- Develop and design multiple concept design alternatives for the client.
- Assist the PM in the delivery of presentations to receive approval on the concept design.
- Ensure the development of preliminary drawings by formulating a drawing list of the different areas of the building.
- Assist in preliminary cost estimates for concept designs, correspondence to clients, consultants, municipal authorities, contractors and other relevant parties, in co-ordination with the Project Manager.
- Develop detailed working drawings for the project in order to eliminate subjectivity in the interpretation of the drawings.
- Assist in gaining approvals for preliminary designs from the relevant government authorities across the lifecycle of the project and ensuring client approval on final working drawings.
- Ensure the integrity of the design intent remains throughout the life cycle of the project.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Architects to ensure smooth implementation of activities on site.
Essential requirements:
- Prior experience at a top western international design consultants practice.
- Working experience on large scale Building projects.
- Qualifications in Architecture, ideally with a professional registration.
- Strong character and mentor for less senior team members.
