James Cleary Architecture is seeking a junior architect. CA is a design oriented firm located in Brooklyn, NY. We work on a variety of projects, from innovative new multi-family construction to creative commercial interiors.
Applicants should:
- Have an accredited B.Arch or M.Arch degree.
- Have 1-2 years professional experience.
- Be highly proficient in AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Adobe.
-Suite programs. Experience with Vray for Sketchup a plus.
- Be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Be capable of being involved in multiple projects simultaneousl.
- Be equally comfortable in both the digital (energy modeling, 3D modeling/rendering) and analog (hand sketching and physical model making) worlds.
- Be reliable and aggressively well organized.
- Reside within commuting distance of our office.
- Be a U.S. citizen, or already possess a work visa for working in the U.S.

We want to recruit a design-led Senior Architect with extensive experience in the residential sector. Proven ability in master planning large and medium scale developments is essential. The preferred candidate would be RIBA registered with at least 5 - 10 years post Part III experience in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to play a significant part in the continued development of a growing and successful practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Running own projects across all RIBA stages.
- Preparing feasibility studies and scheme designs from initial concept to planning drawings.
- Supervising and managing other architects and technicians.
- Assisting in preparing client fee proposals.
- Pro-active member of the management team.
Required Skills and Experience
- Job running/project management experience with good working knowledge of Building Regulations and construction.
- Proficient in AutoCAD. Experience using Revit is advantageous but in-house training will be provided.
- Strong design ability, ideally with good hand-drawing skills.
- Able to liaise directly with clients, consultants and other team members.
