Job description:
- Create and develop design concepts.
- Lead project teams from Schematic Design through Construction Documentation.
- Lead in Construction Administration of projects
physical and digital modelling and drawing of design concepts.
- Create details from design concepts.
- Working with clients; candidates should be able to effectively manage consultant, client, and contractor communications.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree from an architectural program.
- Bachelor's in architecture graduates will also be considered.
- Proficiency in Autocad and 3D modelling programs (Rhino preferred).
- Proficiency in Adobe CS suite, MS Word and Excel
competency in algorithmic scripting preferred.
- Experience working with clients and managing small projects.
- Experience creating construction documentation, including details of designs.

SCARPIDIS design is a small downtown New York based multidisciplinary design firm fusing architecture, interior design, furniture design, lighting design and art into one bespoke experience thoughtfully crafted around our clients’ dreams. We are currently seeking to hire a junior architectural designer in NY. This position starts as a 3 month paid internship that then transitions into a yearly salary position.
Description:
This position works closely with our senior designer as a supporting staff member in performing professional services and producing deliverables for high end residential commercial and hospitality work in NY and Mexico City for the first three months that then transitions into a project management position. The responsibilities would include developing designs, drafting, elevation renderings, mood boards, CAD drawings, materials and furniture sourcing as well as to maintain project documentation.
Qualifications and skills:
- Architecture, Interior Architecture or Interior Design degree required with up to two years’ experience at an architecture or interior design firm, with related high end residential work.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite required.
- An important aspect of this position is having a discerning eye for design. Interest in and knowledge of residential design is preferred.
- A range of conceptual and technical design skill sets yet with a strong tendency towards design and conceptualization.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
- US citizens only.
The ideal candidate will be team oriented and an excellent communicator, self-motivated, and comfortable in a collaborative and dynamic work environment. Construction document experience is a preferred but not required. Please note what type of experience you have.
