New York-based architecture and interior design office is seeking a full-time intermediate designer, with 5+ years of industry experience, passionate about design and have the ability to wear many hats. Experience in all phase preferred, from concept development through construction documents, shop drawing review of millwork, and custom furniture. Sourcing furniture and materials, FF&E specifications and finish schedule, lighting and AV coordination. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a passion for design, a commitment to excellence, and the desire to work on a collaborative team. This 30 person studio has international expertise in high-end retail, hospitality, and residential projects - experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with design director to develop programming documents & space plans.
- Prepare documents during conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases.
- Prepare FF&E specifications.
- Develop comprehensive project palettes through research, selection, and specification of materials and finishes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or equivalent.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Ability to communicate, and present design concepts within the internal team, and to outside vendors.
- Current knowledge of materials, finishes, furnishings, and equipment; including industry standards for selection, procurement, and install management of such items.
- Working knowledge/general understanding of industry standards, construction methods, and technical systems at large.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office required.
- Proficiency with and 3D Max/V-Ray desired.
- Construction Administration experience desired.
- Revit a plus.
- Spexx a plus.
- Leed accreditation is a plus.

Edelman Sultan Knox Wood / Architects LLP is an award-winning downtown architectural firm with a varied practice focusing on public and institutional projects, housing and community facilities. Projects are primarily for not-for-profit clientele and are located throughout New York City.
We seek a motivated, thoughtful and well organized Senior Architect with a professional degree and 10-12 years of practical experience executing projects, preferably in NYC. Previous experience must include all phases of Project Design and Construction Administration including development of design documents, construction detailing, management of construction document production and coordination of project consultants.
Candidate must be proficient at preparing complex building construction drawings and details, editing and coordinating specifications, and researching materials and building systems. Interpersonal skills are important: candidate should have the ability to openly and effectively communicate with clients and senior staff as well as mentor/train junior staff.
AutoCAD proficiency is necessary. Leed accreditation, familiarity with Adobe applications and Revit modeling is preferred.
