Architectural Designer: Assess client needs for construction of residential, retail, and hospital projects. Conduct research on various architectural designs for suitability to meet client needs. Visit sites to complete measurements and assess the functionality and feasibility of architectural design of the designated space. Initiate design concepts and draw detailed design plans for architectural structures using 3D modeling software and graphical presentations. Identify and check materials to be used for construction. Integrate structural, electrical, and mechanical aspects to design and incorporate energy-saving technologies that adhere to state’s energy codes. Prepare CAD drawings that detail architectural designs, drawing perspectives, and sketching concepts in order to visually communicate design themes to clients. Perform calculations, simulation, and data documentation to develop architectural plans for implementation using Architectural Software Programs, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Creative Suite. Test architectural designs through use of most up-to-date architectural softwares and 3D modeling for architectural spaces. Implement designs under the supervision of a licensed architect.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field, or foreign equivalent. This may be substituted with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field, plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related position. Foreign equivalent degree is acceptable. Ability to use architectural drafting softwares including CAD, CNC programming, AutoCAD, Revit, and AG132. Knowledge of drawing perspectives and sketching concepts for visual communication of the design theme. Little Travel – 24% of work time – several days but less than 60 days per year.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a junior architect / designer to learn and grow in a small firm environment. We are looking for a creative, well rounded technically competent architect with a passion for learning and the ability to wear many hats.
The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills through speech, written correspondence, sketching and technical drawing. They must possess strong design and presentation sensibilities for retail, residential and corporate interiors projects. Some experience assembling a set of construction drawings is preferred, the more the better.
Other job requirements:
A Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Architecture is a must and a commanding knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D Studio, SketchUp, Photoshop, and other presentation software are required.
