Key day-to-day tasks of the Retail Interior Designer include:
- Key involvement and leadership in all stages of the design process.

- Coordinating design development and construction documents with technical teams.

BKSK Architects LLC, is looking for an Interior Architect with 10+ years of experience and a passion for high quality design and a positive, collaborative work style. Founded in 1985, BKSK Architects is a New York City-based firm specializing in design that is socially, contextually and ecologically engaged. The firm's diverse range of work includes award-winning cultural, civic, educational, liturgical and residential projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Project Management with the ability to manage and lead complicated design projects and/or multiple projects efficiently and successfully, as well as, to work as a team member on project design teams.
- Leading strong client relationships.
- Participate in or leads programming and pre planning design analysis.
- Develop and execute design documentation including space planning, design development, construction documents and detailing for interior architecture projects.
- Finish and furniture recommendations/selection and coordination.
- Provide drawing coordination and technical oversight for project activities with clients, consultant’s contractors and staff.
- Perform site inspections, reviews shop drawings and material submittals and other related construction administration tasks.
- Mentor / coach less experienced staff.
- Participation in project pursuits and/or interviews.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture from an accredited university.
- 10+ years of experience.
- Workplace expertise and workplace industry leadership.
- Excellent presentation, drawing and sketching skills.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Sketch up, Adobe Creative Suite (Other design-related programs are a plus).
- Thorough knowledge of commercial project design including constructability, project costs, building codes, furniture systems and work place design.
- Motivated self-starter and works well in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to communicate comfortably and confidently with team members and clients.
