Required:
– Riba or ARB registered Architect with experience of working within the United Kingdom.
– Site and delivery/technical experience alongside strong design ethos.

Rafael de Cardenas / Architecture at Large is a practiced resource for design vision and execution with wide-ranging projects in architecture, residential and commercial interiors, temporary spaces, furniture, and integrated objects. Founded in 2006 as a small office in Chinatown, NYC, RDC/AAL maintains a small, dedicated staff of professional designers with diverse backgrounds that range from fashion design to dance to research science. Working with an international team of collaborators, including artists, fabricators, and artisans, the studio is currently developing projects in North America, Eastern and Western Europe, and Asia.
We are currently seeking a Designer with at least (3) years of experience to join our studio and work under the supervision of senior staff on design, drafting, and other task-oriented work while learning to independently manage diverse projects and internal and external collaborations.
The Designer will liaise with clients as needed and will observe and execute internal and external standards for conduct, decorum and aesthetics. The ideal candidate will contribute to the creative growth of the firm and should be well-versed and engaged in a cultural dialogue, both within the office and outside it.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in architecture or a related field.
- At least (3) years of professional experience in a design studio.
- Experience working on residential and commercial architecture and interior projects, ranging from small to large scale and from temporary to permanent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, (V-Ray is a plus), Adobe Creative Suite and Excel.
- Experience working on projects from concept through construction, including conceptual sketches and renderings, physical modeling and documentation.
- Collaborative spirit within a small team.
- Resourceful, independent, and actively learns from hands-on experience.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting.
