We are seeking an experienced Architect who is self-motivated and a creative thinker to work on a variety of different project types. You will have a successful track record exhibiting fluency with a variety of responsibilities, design quality and production, and team support. You will be skilled with architecture, design and understand architectural principles and techniques. You will also be knowledgeable about types of building materials and construction methods, and familiar with federal and state code requirements.
Interested candidates must have a Bachelor or Masters of Architecture from an accredited NAAB program. This position requires 5+ years of experience in designing small to mid-size architectural projects of varying project types and an entrepreneurial spirit with an intense desire to learn.
The following duties are typical to the position, but not all encompassing.
- Collaboration with project teams to develop design concept drawings and presentations.
- Lead in the preparation of documents from master planning phase to construction and bidding documents.
- Participation in Construction Administration Activities.
Major responsibilities:
- Proficient with AutoCAD and/or REVIT, InDesign, Sketch Up, Illustrator, Photoshop, and MS Project.
- Proficient with building code analysis and reviews with local code enforcement agencies.
- Exhibits technical ability and strong knowledge of building systems.
- Provides technical coordination with consulting engineers.
- Following completion of the construction documents; assists with completion of all permit applications, building information forms and associated permit forms.
- Assists with revisions resulting from permit comments and ensures a timely resubmittal.
- Works with the Project Architect and Senior Project Manager to maintain good client relations.
- Must be team-oriented, articulate, flexible, productive, and able to work collaboratively with project team members.
- Must be willing and able to handle multiple tasks and have a willingness to learn and take initiative.
Additional Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Capabilities:
- Knowledge in all project phases.
- Knowledge of types of building materials, systems and construction methods.
- Knowledge of federal and state code requirements.
- Ability to learn new graphic software to compliment the presentation of new designs.
- Communicates effectively in both oral and written communications.
- Ability to follow, understand, and articulate clear design principles and concepts.
