Minimum requirements:
- BA or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design from a highly regarded program.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an interior-focused architectural practice.
- Working knowledge of residential construction detailing, materials, methods and codes.
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Additional industrial design experience or education is highly valued.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- High level of proficiency in hand sketching and AutoCAD.
- We are also looking to expand our West Coast team.

Tannerhecht Architecture, an award winning San Francisco based firm, seeks motivated, well rounded, detail oriented Project Architect with expertise in multifamily housing. Responsibilities include assisting principals with executing multifamily building designs from initial concept through construction administration. A demonstrated ability to independently produce medium and large project packages is necessary. Current work includes low rise multifamily housing and adaptive reuse projects. Successful candidate will have experience with these project types, an understanding of current building codes and approvals processes, and an ability to effectively coordinate details with clients, in-house teams, engineering consultants, and contractors. Wit and a sense of humor are appreciated. We offer competitive pay and benefits package.
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years experience in architectural offices.
- Strong familiarity with multifamily housing design, documentation and detailing from schematics through permitting and construction.
- Familiarity with Types V and Type I construction.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, hand sketching, Microsoft Office.
- Thorough understanding of California Building Codes, Fair Housing Act, American with Disabilities Act, and LEED standards.
- Leed Accreditation preferred.
- Strong desire and commitment to develop designs into functional, economical, beautiful, and buildable solutions.
- Must have excellent communication skills (graphic, written, and verbal), organizational, and technical skills and be comfortable leading fellow team members, consultants, vendors, and contractors.
- Current residency in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Availability within 2 weeks of offer to employ.
