De-Spec is an award winning multi disciplinary practice with projects ranging from Architecture of single family houses to design build interiors, from residential to boutique retail design. Established in 2002, de-spec is a small open studio practice in West Chelsea NYC with a commitment to design excellence through construction.
We are looking for Junior transitioning to mid level designer. Talented, focused and committed individual willing to take responsibility and grow with the company.
Requirements:
- Accredited degree in Architecture with 3-5 years plus experience post education.
- Completed NCARB registration and IDP requirements.
- License not required.
- Proficiency in Vector works and AutoCAD helpful, Rhino and V-ray for rendering, as well as in Adobe Suite and general presentation skills. Modern, minimal aesthetic for both presentation and design vocabulary required.
- Experience in all the phases of work from Schematic design through Construction document of a small project, with a mind for detail.
- Ability to work independently and interpret design into presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Survey and document a project occasionally.
- Develop presentation from schematic design in a team work environment.
- Ability to detail in Design Development phase.
- Ability to communicate with team leader and to take instructions.

MKDA is a dynamic 50-person corporate interior design firm headquartered in New York City with offices in Stamford, CT and Miami, FL. Since 1959, MKDA has specialized in the workplace environment, providing design services to corporations, commercial building owners, non-profits and government agencies.
The New York studio of MKDA is currently seeking a motivated, technically strong and creative project architect with excellent verbal and written communication skills and three to five (3-5) years of architectural experience in corporate interiors.
Responsibilities will include assisting the Account Executive and Job Captain on project work that includes creating construction documents; general drafting and detailing; construction administration and shop drawing review; field surveys and reports, etc.
Candidates must have either a B.Arch or M.Arch degree and a minimum of five years of experience as well as strong organization, team building and relationship management skills. Must be skilled in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite. Adobe Creative Suite and Revit experience a plus.
