Essential job requirements:
- Professional Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
- Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Revit a must.
- General knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and building codes.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, motivated, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Creative with strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
- State Licensure and Leed accreditation not required but is a plus.
- Professional appearance and attitude.

Gran Kriegel Associates, located in the Financial District of Manhattan, is a mid-sized firm with a 45 year history of award-winning design for private, public sector and not-for-profit clients. Current projects span a broad range of types, and include affordable housing, higher education, K-12 schools, defense and cooperate interiors. The projects include new construction, adaptive re-use and interior renovations.
We are seeking an intermediate architect with 3 to 6 years of experience to work on a variety of project types. The candidate will work closely with the principal and senior staff to develop designs concepts, produce construction documents, and administer the construction process.
Applicants will require the following:
- Completion of a professional architectural degree program.
- Proven design ability within the context of publically-funded projects.
- Ability to communicate design ideas both in freehand sketches, Revit models and renderings.
- Knowledge of New York City codes.
- Excellent technical skills, documentation experience and ability to visualize construction details.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with the construction administration process.
- Patience with bureaucracies.
- The applicant must be proficient with ACAD, Revit, and Adobe Suite.
