This is a very exciting opportunity to work with an established company during its expansion into new International Markets.
Job description:
- Manage the Design division and guide junior designers / designers .
- Regular travel to China and Cambodia factories to work with sampling and technical staff.
- Calculate costing and design into cost.
- Create fashionable designs with commercial acumen.
Key requirements:
- At least 6 years previous experience working in knitwear.
- 3 years managerial experience.
- Entrepreneurial, able to think commercially and strategically.
- Proactive and independent, a problem solver.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Understanding of brands ranging from fast-fashion, contemporary to luxury as well as trend and market intelligence analysis.
- Understanding of production and the supply chain of the fashion industry i.e. sourcing, sampling, costing.
- Fluent in English - Cantonese / Mandarin a bonus.

Key responsibilities:
- Identify, pursue and win corporate works projects in the DC area.
- Develop teaming agreements for project pursuits.
- Lead interview teams.
- Bring in work to support the firm.
- Bring high level of sustainable and innovative design to every aspect of practice.
- Planning and implementing corporate design standards in the D.C. office.
- Coordinating and leading all facets of a project from test fits through construction administration.
- Making decisions on professional design for design or construction projects.
- Coordinating the project details with vendors and consultants.
- Proactively managing client relationship while handling multiple, competing priorities.
- Overseeing successful implementation of our Strategic Plan at the project level.
- Participate in client meetings and manage client relationships on multiple projects.
- Mentor lessor experienced staff.
- Participate in IIDA or other Interior Design organizations and lead networking and business development.
- Be a visible leader within the firm and the industry.
Desired requirements:
- 10-15 years of experience in the corporate interiors industry.
- Track record of winning and delivering high quality projects.
- Existing professional network in the industry.
- Proven previous relevant experience.
- Bachelor Degree in interior design from a CIDA accredited school or related degree.
- Prefer NCIDQ certified and Leed accreditation; willingness and ability to attain accreditation.
- Passion for interior design and corporate interiors.
- Knowledge of building codes.
- Experience with office furniture systems and commercial furniture.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD v2014 and Revit. The Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup are a benefit.
- Strong knowledge of sustainable design practices, demonstrated design sensitivity and Leed accredited.
