Job description:
Full-time architect / designer with four to eight+ years professional experience, works under direction of others, responsible for projects' technical design; provides planning / design / coordination consultation on large projects; reviews/approves conceptual designs. Requires a bachelor's degree in architecture.
Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions. Performs assignments under direction with limited responsibility for design. Provides professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projects. Independently makes decisions on significant architectural design problems and methods. Reviews and approves conceptual designs. Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
Assignments may include higher-level work for training / development purposes and developing designs.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture required, Master's degree a plus.
- Professional architecture experience a plus.
- Extensive professional Revit Architecture experience required.
- Professional AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office experience required.
- 3D modeling / rendering, Microstation, Grasshopper experience a plus.
- Construction document and Job Captain experience required.
- Architect license a plus.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Defines program requirements and establishes design parameters based on client requirements and working with senior architect/senior urban designer and project manager.
- Creates and develops overall design concepts, schematic, design development and construction documents through detail level; formulates / leads design presentation strategies and makes presentations.
- Collaborates with design team members during the implementation of design to ensure clarity and quality of concept is maintained through detail level.
- Collaboration with other design/construction disciplines, interacting with client technical staff and client meetings.
